Regional Cooperation Agreement Definition

The Regional Cooperation Agreement for Combating Piracy and Armed Robbery of Ships in Asia (ReCAAP) is the first regional government agreement to promote and improve cooperation against piracy and armed robbery of ships in Asia. The agreement entered into force on 4 September 2006. The project remains on track, as RTD staff carry out an annual Programme Evaluation (EPA), which examines potential critical adaptations to the programme that can maximise efficiency without changing the plan. FasTracks also benefits from public-private partnerships and federal funding to ensure that taxpayers` money can go as much as possible. In addition, the local legal departments concerned by FasTrack contribute 2.5 per cent of the corridor costs, or approximately 2.01 per cent of the total project cost in order to demonstrate the regional cooperation required for such a capital project. This contribution is estimated at a total of $95.03 million. The initiative is managed by a Board of Directors and a Citizens` Advisory Board to ensure that decisions are influenced by the views of all relevant stakeholders. . .
